See a spill? Report it!
The City of Richland is asking its residents and businesses to help monitor spills or illegal discharges into the city’s storm drain system by calling a 24-hour hotline at 942-7480. Examples of illegal discharges or spills include used motor oil, fuel oil, anti-freeze, fertilizers, paint and solvents.
When the hotline receives a call, a city crew responds to the site, assesses the situation and takes appropriate action. Left untreated, spills or discharges could flow through Richland’s stormwater system and eventually into the Columbia River.
Richland’s stormwater permit from the Washington Department of Ecology requires the city to publicize its hotline.
