Richland Library Busier in 2010
We’re all doing a lot more reading, it seems. That’s what the circulation numbers from the Richland Library suggest.
The city says circulation in August 2010 was 30% higher than it was in August 2009 — that was the first full month that the new library was open last year. Here are the stats:
August 2009 circulation: 53,901 items
August 2010 circulation: 69,988 items
New library card registrations were down in August of this year (compared to August 2009), but the city says the number of new, non-resident library cards was up 115%. That’s the kind of thing you might be able to attribute to having a newly renovated building.
