PNNL Joins Flickr
This is kinda cool. PNNL has created an account and begun posting photos on Flickr, the super-popular photo sharing and photo community web site.

Sadly, all the photos are listed as “all rights reserved” — since this is government stuff, it would’ve been nice for them to share these images under a Creative Commons license. Maybe they’ll change that at some point.
The irony here is that Flickr is a blocked web site internally at PNNL! Not true, as we’re told in the comments!

Thanks for the shout-out, Matt. We definitely hope our pictures can be of use to people. Your blog post comes at a perfect time, as we just started changing the permissions this morning. Viewers should find all the images changed within a couple of days. So, great suggestion and I’m glad to say we were on top of it!
Also, just a correction that Flickr is accessible from PNNL for work activities. Our IT folks are pretty great about providing access to the social media sites we need to communicate with the public.
