No Decision Yet on Curbside Recycling
Staff and a subcommittee of the Utility Advisory Committee are reviewing curbside participation rates, expansion costs, etc. and expect to take a recommendation to the full UAC at its Nov. 10 meeting. The UAC is likely to provide its recommendation to City Council at its Nov. 17 meeting, with a council decision at its December meeting.
According to some previous media reports, the participation rates are pretty darn good. KEPR-TV ran a story some time ago that said 74% of houses in the North Richland test zone took part — pretty impressive.
The test program will continue through December. If you need a reminder about it, see this information page on the Richland web site.
