Kadlec Medical Center Opening New Hospital Tower

Richland’s Kadlec Medical Center will dedicate its now hospital tower, called the River Pavilion Tower, later this month. The new medical facilities will open for hospital business in June.

The River Pavilion Tower will be six stories high, but is designed to expand as high as 10 floors in the future. It features a 36-bed clinical decision unit, 10 new operating rooms, and a wing of 28 private patient rooms that will serve at Kadlec’s Intermediate Care Unit. The fifth floor will have a pediatric center that is being funded by community donations to the Kadlec Foundation. The sixth floor is shelled in for future expansion.

Total project cost? A cool $70 million. It’s on schedule and on budget. Here’s what it looks like:

That image comes from a mini-magazine we received last week from Kadlec Medical Center about the expansion project. It’s the closest hospital to us, and both of our kids were born at Kadlec.

The River Pavilion Tower will be dedicated in a grand opening ceremony on May 29, at 11:00 AM. The event will take place on the lower helipad below the Corrado Medical Building along Goethals Drive in Richland. After the dedication, there’ll be public tours from Noon to 4:00 PM.

You can learn more at the hospital web site. Here’s a map of the new hospital facilities, also from the mini-magazine:
