Kadlec Hospital Buys More Property
Kadlec Hospital in Richland, named after the first man to die there, strangely enough, (Lt. Col. Harry R. Kadlec) is expanding. So they’ve purchased a large block of commercial space just a couple blocks away from the main campus.

I don’t know if it’s good news or bad news that the hospital has been close to 90% occupancy at times over the past year. On the one hand, it shows we’re a growing community. On the other hand, a lot of people have been sick or had accidents. For those who had a choice, and they chose Kadlec, it speaks to the superior care they feel they’ll receive. But in some cases, wouldn’t that be something you’d rather not have to make a choice about?

That’s interesting…it seems like the only industry growing in Colorado Springs is the Medical industry. We’ve had 2 brand new hospitals go up in the last 3 years (and we’re about 500,000 people.) Makes me wonder if this is a trend in other places too.
