Jason Lee Elementary Dismissing Early – No Heat
by Matt McGee on December 10th, 2009. Filed under: Richland Schools.Just got an alert from the Richland School District that there’s no heat at Jason Lee Elementary and kids are being dismissed early. Here’s what the District sent out about 10 minutes ago:
Jason Lee Elementary School will dismiss students at 12:45 pm today due to dropping temperatures in the school. The heating system has malfunctioned due to circulation overloads caused by the continued cold weather. District maintenance staff are currently working to repair the problems.
Parents are being notified to pick up their children at 12:45 pm or anytime before if that is more convenient. Students who cannot get home or whose parents have not been notified will be transported to Chief Joseph Middle School at 1:00 pm to stay warm. Any students still remaining at Chief Joseph at 3:00 pm will be transported back to Jason Lee so they can walk home from school as they normally would.
In case you didn’t know, Enterprise Middle School out in West Richland also missed a day of school on Tuesday when they had heating problems, or should I say lack-of-heating problems.
