It Pays to Live in Richland
or at least, use the utilities. Apparently, the Bonneville Power Administration overcharged its customers and has now been ordered to pay them back. The City of Richland is passing the money back to homeowners in the form of a credit in the utility bill. The city council is supposed to approve the proposal later this month, and residents could see lower bills beginning in March.

Richland is unique among the Tri-Cities because water, garbage and electricity are charged together in one bill from the City of Richland. I love it because makes it easier to discover the approximate monthly utility charges. If a client asks, the answer is only one phone call away, as opposed to at least three in the other cities.
