HUGE congratulations to former Richland Bomber, and current Gold Medal Winning Goalie Hope Solo, who led Team USA Women’s Soccer to a 1-0 win over Brazil this week at the Summer Olympics in China. What an incredible accomplishment for anyone, but it’s even more amazing when you consider that this was the exact scenario — a game against Brazil played in China — which got her temporarily booted off the team late last year.

I was gonna browse through the news coverage of the gold medal match and pull out some of the things Hope said about winning a gold medal and all that she and the team have overcome, but then I found this excellent interview she did with Jeremy Schapp of ESPN. It pretty much says it all.
