Ex-RSD Chief Semler Gets Big Endorsement

by Matt McGee on April 28th, 2008. Filed under: Miscellaneous.

Rich Semler, who spent several years as Superintendent of the Richland School Disrict, picked up a big endorsement last week in his bid to become the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. He got a thumbs up from the Washington Education Association (huge teachers union). Here’s what Semler told the TC Herald about the endorsement:

“I’m ecstatic. I’ve been working very hard for this endorsement. This endorsement is the cornerstone of my campaign.”

Somewhat ironically, Bergeson used to be president of the WEA. Hmmmm……

Semler was in charge of Richland School District when they were a client during my previous job. I never met him, but I admired him for leading the charge to eliminate the WASL. (There are a lot of good resources on that page if you scroll down.)
