The big news this morning is the CID canal break along Columbia Park Trail in Richland. I first heard about it on Twitter, with news coming in from the local TV stations and the Herald.

The break is located on the north side of Columbia Park Trail near the Hills West development. The Herald says no homes have been affected — I assume they mean structurally, because a lot of homes will have no water. KEPR posted on Twitter that 8,000 homes from West Richland to Finley will be without water.

KEPR seems to be doing the best job covering this today, so keep an eye on their newscast or web site for the latest information. Hope the families that are impacted by this can get by okay while CID gets the canal fixed up again.
